Doug receives many requests each year from solicitors to provide employment reports in personal injury and medical negligence cases. Instructions are received from both Defender’s and Pursuer’s solicitors.
In most cases the focus of the reports is to comment on the impact of injury or illness on someone’s future employment prospects and earnings potential.
Reports are prepared on the basis of an interview with the Pursuer whenever this is feasible, assessment of the Pursuer’s employment related issues, a review of case papers provided and research undertaken which is specific to each instruction or case.
Typically reports are structured as follows:
- Introduction and background
- Review of case documentation (including medical and other reports made available)
- Current situation
- Education and employment history
- Pre-injury employment and earnings prospects
- Post-injury employment and earnings prospects
- Summary and conclusions
“I have engaged Douglas over a number of years on behalf of several major insurers. I have always found the service he offers to be of the highest standard and I have no hesitation recommending him to anybody considering sending instructions.”

A schedule of fees will be supplied on request.
